TORONTO, ON   –     The Toronto Theatre Awards are proud to announce the nominations for the 2025 Toronto Theatre Awards, celebrating excellence in Toronto theatre for the 2024-2025 season.
Tarragon Theatre and The Musical Stage Company's coproduction, After the Rain, leads all productions with 10 nominations including nominations for Outstanding Production of a Musical, Outstanding New Production and Outstanding Performance of an Ensemble in a Musical. While four productions tied with 7 nominations. Musicals, A Strange Loop and Titanique both received 7 nominations including nominations for Outstanding Production of a Musical.
Amongst plays, Flex, a Crow's Theatre and Obsidian Theatre Company coproduction received 7 nominations. Also receiving 7 nominations was the return of Ins Choi's Kim's Convenience to Toronto stages. Both productions received nominations for Outstanding Production of a Play.
A record number of 73 different theatrical productions received votes for nomination consideration. Additionally, 158 different individual performances were recognized by the Toronto Theatre Awards voters as deserving of votes for nomination across the various categories. Toronto's stages were blessed with a large number of outstanding and noteworthy productions and performances for the 2024-2025 season.
The Toronto Theatre Awards proudly congratulates this year's nominees, who represent the pinnacle of artistic achievement in the Toronto theatre community this season.
